Combined Chapter Christmas Party

By the Editor

The Combined Chapter Christmas Party on December 11 was a big, successful day for the Sydney H.O.G. Chapter and followed many weeks of organising and days wishing the rain away.

After an early morning for setup, with thanks to the many members who came early and stayed all day to help out, more Sydney Chapter Members arrived with the Northern Sydney and NSW Chapters not far behind.

Gradually members from other nearby, regional Chapters rolled in including Western Sydney, Canberra, Central Coast and NSW South Coast.

The band Crankcase, with our own Andy Draper on bass, had plenty of crowd favourites on the playlist. If you were impressed, how about the fact that the singer had to sub in late and carried that performance with only two weeks' notice?

The early queue was with the coffee van but that migrated to the food truck as the day moved on. Those burgers were massive and lead to another queue - for the bathroom sink to wash saucy fingers and faces!

Around the Harley-Heaven dealership Chapter Member Zak had a full booking sheet for tattoos, a barber was offering party season trims and a mobile detailer, having picked a bike from the parking area, was applying his lotions and potions.

As the crowd enjoyed the surprising amount of sunshine (no doubt a few cases of sunburn to deal with afterward) raffle ticket sellers plied their trade and a silent auction was underway. All funds raised will go to the Chapter's charity, seeking a cure for brain cancer.

Voting in the show 'n' shine was brisk. When the tally was done Chapter Member Binky carried off the tourer trophy, Member Craig took best in show with his orange Breakout and best cruiser was a much-modified, hotted up Softail.

By the time the day was done around 300 people had visited, including some surprised Triumph customers, bikes had been bought, parts and merch carried away.

Many thanks to the Sydney Chapter's party organising committee of Fred, Dave, Sharna, Stephen, Kim, Hana and Des. Thanks also for the many supportive donors.

This couldn't have happened without the support of Harley-Heaven Sydney dealer principal Chris Papas and the dealership staff.

And not forgetting all the attendees who contributed to the fun, friendly spirit of the day.

The mobile detailer did an amazing job on the selected motorcycle. If you'd like a visit call the Detail Hub on 0433 019319. Prem is offering a 15% discount to Sydney H.O.G. members for the next 12 months.

Party season do-overs were popular.

Tattoo work was booked solid. If you couldn't get a slot with Zak his business is Something Original Tattoo, 128 King Street, Newtown (02) 9550 3813.
