Australia Day Ride - Tuesday 7:45am

A chance to celebrate Australia’s Diversity and Multiculturalism by remembering your roots.

Fly the flag of your country of origin and be proud of your heritage.

If you don’t have a flag wear something that is recognizable to your country.

This is a Surf n Turf ride so we will experience the coast and the countryside and hopefully realize
how lucky we are to live in Australia.

Ride Plan
7.30am - Meet at Decathlon
7.45am - Briefing
8.00am - Sharp we Depart for Balmoral Beach

We ride North over the Harbour Bridge to the iconic Balmoral Beach in Middle Harbour.

Take in the sea air and a coffee and get a group photo at the Rotunda.

9.15am - We head south, this time through the tunnel, along Botany Bay with a nod to Cook and on to the Royal National Park to skirt the coast as far as Bulli, crossing the Seacliff Bridge and checking out the surf along the way.

11.00am - A stop at Austimer to continue the surf theme with a quick coffee and leg stretch.

11.30am - Continue on to Bulli where we will take Memorial Drive to join the M1 South stopping at Yallah Shell Coles for fuel (140 kms to this point) before turning west and heading up Macquarie Pass to Robertson and the Southern Highlands.

12.40pm - Robertson Public House & Kitchen for Lunch.

1.45pm - Depart Robertson and begin the Turf section.

We will now ride across the Highlands on picturesque country roads and cross the M31 at Church Ave heading North again stopping at Balmoral Village for a group shot at the old Balmoral railway sign.

2.40pm - We leave Balmoral Village and head north as far as The Oaks where we turn east until we pick up the M31 at Narellan Road. We will stop just before the Highway at the Caltex on Narellan Road to say our goodbyes and it’s the highway in from there.

Decathlon is 30 mins from there so depending on where you live expect to get home around 4.30pm. Just in time for an Australia Day BBQ with the family.
The day is 300kms and approx. 5hrs saddle time.
