Roll On In - Rally Postponed But Chapter Ride Going Ahead
UPDATED Ride Plan – Snowy Mountains Ride
Date: March 12 to 14, 2021
Briefing: 8am (TIME CHANGE)
Stands Up: 8.15am (TIME CHANGE)
Text:
Most people driving or riding to the Snowy Mountains have travelled inland via Goulburn, Queanbeyan, Cooma and Jindabyne to the ski fields. The ride planned for the Roll On In Motorcycle Rally has been updated to become a Snowy Mountains ride going the long way – as we do!
We will head south following the coast to Batemans Bay with some stops along the way before heading inland to Cooma and the Snowy Mountains.
Detail
From our new starting point, St Peters McDonalds, we will connect with the Old Princes Highway and then onto the M1 at Thirroul to Berry.
Berry will be our first morning stop for morning coffee, a leg stretch and the opportunity to top up our fuel tanks. If you live south you can join the group at Heathcote McDonalds. We will not be stopping so it will be a rolling start for you
The first leg is 134km - Google Maps Link: https://goo.gl/maps/bMT3nEMLov3uNErY6
From Berry we will head back on the A1 heading south to Batemans Bay where we will stop at the bike-friendly coffee shop called “Fuel” at East Lynne. This will be our lunch stop.
Fuel is a coffee shop, makes its own pies and is a well-frequented and unique motorcycle museum. The owner, Bede Cooper, is looking forward to receiving us. Check them out on Facebook.
This leg is 116km - Google Maps Link: https://goo.gl/maps/rMmyAnci4vABktJe8
From Fuel we will head back on the A1 for a short burst down the freeway to Batemans Bay where we will take the Kings Hwy/B52 to Queanbeyan via Braidwood and Bungadore. We will stop in Queanbeyan for a short leg stretch and refuel. This leg is 149km

At Queanbeyan we will then get on the Monaro Hwy/B23 to Cooma, our new destination and accommodation at the High-Country Motel.

It is a good day’s riding. We will cover just over 500ks and approximately six hours’ saddle time. We will have plenty of opportunities to stop along the way, vie possible variations on the road plan. The aim is to enjoy, not rush but get us safely to the before 5pm.
